What is Choro?
Choro is a Brazilian folk and instrumental music from Rio de Janeiro, an attempt from the second half of the 19th century to mix European chamber music with African rhythms. The result is a beautiful, syncopated and happy music, with a rich harmony, melody and aesthetics.
A roda de choro is the counterpart of the jam session where all the musicians sit in a round and play together. Le Snobs will play the opener from the bossa Nova, Samba and Choro standarts and there will be an open Roda. Please bring instruments and notes, Choro-beginners welcome !!
